Russian in intensive care in Paphos general hospital

A 27-year-old Russian is receiving treatment in the intensive care unit of Paphos hospital after attempting to swim while heavily drunk on Sunday night.

According to police, after consuming large quantities of alcohol, the 27-year-old Paphos resident went to swim in the pool of an apartment complex in the Tomb of the Kings area at around 9.45pm on Sunday.

The man lost consciousness while swimming and was pulled out and taken to Paphos general hospital where he was intubated in the intensive care unit.

His situation is considered to be serious.
