Aunt guilty in toddler abduction

The Limassol Criminal Court on Thursday found the 35-year-old aunt of a toddler guilty of his abduction earlier this year.

Mitigation will take place on Tuesday. She will remain in police custody until then.

Eighteen-month-old Stavros Styllis’ disappearance on February 15 had sparked a massive search, involving police, army, civil defence, municipal workers and the public.

The toddler was eventually found unharmed at the Ypsonas cemetery eight hours later.

He was found crying in a shed by a widow visiting her husband’s grave.
