Man arrested for embezzlement

A 43-year-old Larnaca man was yesterday remanded in custody for eight days suspected of embezzling €16,000 from the insurance agent he worked for.

The man, who worked as a cash collector, is suspected of pocketing €16,000 he had received from 78 clients in the past two months, issuing fake invoices.

He was arrested after the insurance agent reported him to police.
