Car torched

A CAR was torched yesterday during the early hours as it was parked in a garage in Nicosia, police said. The fire broke out at around 1am according to a police spokesman. Members of the police and fire service arrived at the scene but the fire had already been extinguished by the 23-year-old owner of the vehicle. The scene was cordoned off while the police and fire service carried out an initial investigation to determine the cause. According to the police it was a case of arson. The car sustained damage of approximately €3,000.
