Hard Rock’s battle of the bands

NICOSIA’S Hard Rock Café has announced that the closing date for applications from bands wishing to participate in the international music competition Hard Rock Rising is Monday, January 21.
Participating bands will fight for the ultimate prize, which is participating in a world tour, recording their own album, creating a video clip as part of Hard Rock Records and receiving new equipment.
Bands can register via a specialised application found on Hard Rock Café Nicosia’s Facebook page www.facebook.com/hrcnicosia. To participate in Hard Rock Rising 2013, interested bands must first create their own account on Reverb Nation (www.reverbnation.com), where they will then be able to post their own copyrighted song. ReverbNation is the leading online marketing platform for music, used by more than 16 million artists in 250 countries worldwide.
Bands can register to participate in only one market, specifically their country of residence. There are no restrictions regarding the size of the band or the number of members participating. Once the registration process is completed on 21 January, Hard Rock will start the next phase, which is the voting phase. During the voting phase fans will be able to vote for their favourite band via a specialised application on Facebook. The bands with the most votes from the second phase will have the opportunity to play live at Hard Rock Café Nicosia in front of a judging committee. This will take place around the middle of February.
Hard Rock Rising, also known as the battle of the bands, is organised on a global level by Hard Rock International and is a battle aimed at discovering and supporting new talents in music. Hard Rock Rising provides bands the means for them to fight their own battle on stage, in all Hard Rock cafes worldwide, and ultimately claim their prize.
