Four people nabbed in drug raid

DRUGS squad YKAN arrested four people on Friday night in Kato Paphos in connection with illegal possession of drugs, intent to supply, and possession of fake euros.

The suspects aged, 41, 50, 24 and 29, were arrested following a raid on a maisonette, where the 41-year-old man was living.

The 41-year-old was found trying to escape via the roof, where police found eight grammes of cocaine and 15 grammes of heroin.

They also seized two weighing scales, six nylon bags containing cannabis with a gross weight of 167 grammes, and various items of jewellery.

On seeing police, the 24-year-old also attempted to flee the scene unsuccessfully. Following a body search, police found a cigarette containing tobacco and cannabis, a bag with a gramme of cannabis and cash totalling €1,130, out of which three of the €20 notes are believed to be fakes.

In a separate incident in Larnaca on the same night, YKAN officers arrested two youths, 17 and 19, on suspicion of illegal possession of drugs with intent to supply.

The arrests were made following a raid on the 17-year-old’s home.

Police seized 38.5 grammes of cannabis, two weighing scales and €400 in cash.
