Aegean simplifies check-in for passengers

AEGEAN Airlines has announced that as of December 1, it will be installing mobile check-in machines at a number of European airports, including Larnaca.

Mobile check-ins have grown increasingly common in airports, giving passengers the chance to print off their own boarding pass before dropping off their bags.

As of December 1, passengers will be required to either check in online or use the mobile check in at the airport on flights to and from Larnaca, Athens, Thessaloniki, Barcelona, Brussels, Frankfurt, London Heathrow and Stuttgart.

Passengers can check in on the machines as early as 24 hours before or as late as 30 minutes before their flight.

They can also check-in via their mobile through mobile.aegeanair.com, available from 24 hours to 30 minutes before their flight. The phone must have access to the internet whereby a 2D barcode is sent to the passenger, which can presented at the departure gate.

The airline reassured passengers that web and mobile check-in is easy and available in five languages: English, Greek, German, French and Spanish.

For airports that do not support mobile check-in using a 2D barcode  – Berlin, Vienna, Rome, Istanbul, Madrid, Milan, Munich, Moscow, Paris, Tel-Aviv – a message is sent to the passenger’s phone to confirm check-in and then their boarding pass is printed at the check-in counter.

For passengers traveling with luggage, special ”drop off baggage” counters will be available for a quick drop-ff.

A ‘special services’ counter will be accessible for passengers with special needs and those travelling with pets as well as a separate counter for passengers travelling business class and those holding a Miles and Bonus card.
