Clerides out of hospital

16:50 FORMER President Glafcos Clerides, 92, was released on Wednesday from the Evagelistria clinic after his doctor judged there was no reason for him to remain there.

Clerides was admitted on Monday with ‘chronic gastrointestinal disorder’. But according to his doctors his health is now “very satisfactory”.

“We are still waiting on some (test) results but it was not considered sensible to keep him in the clinic until all the results were in as some of them won’t be ready for a few days,” Clerides’ doctor Iosif Kassios said.

Kassios said he sees Clerides on “a very regular basis” and will be able to check up on his health soon.
