Cartel summer club is found on a fabulous rooftop terrace with commanding views of Paphos harbour and the ancient castle. Open for its ninth year, the glamorous venue hosts a number of special events during the summer, including guest spots with well known DJs and celebrities from around the world.
Reservations are essential and the venue is accessed either via an internal lift or an outside staircase. Door staff are well turned out and polite and from the moment you arrive you know you’re in for a fun night.
A large, busy, central bar dominates the room and the DJ pit is set in a good position to ensure all the guests can see who is playing. Three metal cages around the venue are often occupied by scantily clad dancers which all add to the evening’s experience.
Cartel is a well designed, modern club that continues to be popular with both locals and tourists and a VIP section with low seating caters for those who wish to relax away from the party hub.
There is a second bar on the far side of the venue and all bar staff are well trained, experienced and polite.
Cartel is the place to come to show off your fashion sense and style and a recent visit by fashion TV cameras along with top female DJ Joyce Mercedes will ensure that the club will gain an international reputation. A wide mix of ages of cocktail sipping fashionistas can be seen perched at the tables and stools dotted around the club. The strawberry daiquiri is the most popular tipple.
This is not the place to come if you’re on a budget as drinks range from €5-10 but they are usually accompanied by a complimentary plate of fruit or nuts.
All styles of music are played at the club and guest DJs ensure they stamp their identity on each night. Resident DJs play a wide range of styles, including international and Greek music.
As the night wears on, club goers relax and let their hair down and dancing is the norm, especially nearing the end of the night when Greek music is played and napkins galore are thrown about by the bar staff.
The club has a large crowd of regulars who party the night away every weekend of the summer and many guests travel from other towns for the Cartel experience.
