EU presidency chief’s successor will not prove so difficult to find

While I concur with your editorial entitled: “EU presidency chief may not be guilty of nepotism but the damage is done” (Cyprus Mail June 21), I do not agree that Andreas Moleskis’ resignation will create huge problems for the government and that replacing him will have dire consequences.

There is no reason why a competent, experienced manager cannot take over this job, given a short time period (a month or less) to grasp the essentials of the position.

There is no indispensible individual, especially not one springing from that unique, endemic sub-species homo cypriensis rusfetica – clearly not an endangered species in this country.
