NGs receive French military award

THE GOLD Insignia of the National Guard of France was yesterday awarded here by the Ambassador of France Jean Marc Rives to members of Cyprus National Guard (NG), Captain Costas Fitiris, Lieutenant Colonel George Georgiou and Lieutenant General Michalis Shiailos.

This Insignia is awarded to French military officers for their participation in operational activities and actions to the benefit of populations. It is also awarded, by exception, to foreign military officers for their special services in the field of defence, or as in this case, to the enhancement of bilateral cooperation.
