Hawaiian Tropic Sun Kissed
Famous for its wide range of sun creams, Hawaiian Tropic has now branched out into sun block for the lips with this SPF25 product. Well in tune with the female market, there is a range of sweet smelling glosses in easy to use squeezy tubes. This so called ‘island berry’ one gives the lips a little red tint and makes them look ultra shiny. It also smells good enough to eat and is extremely hydrating. Some may find it slightly slimy if you’re not used to glosses but on the plus side it stays on for ages and you don’t need to bother with constant applications.

Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream Lip Protestant Stick
This is just about as good as it gets – Elizabeth Arden’s Eight Hour Cream in a super protective stick for the lips is well worth the price. Enriched with emollients, it has protective sunscreen and vitamin E that also shields against UV exposure with SPF15. What’s really great is the range of colours available, from bright red to a peachy tint meaning you can use them instead of a lipstick during the day.
First created in 1930, its name came about thanks to a remarkable performance – a loyal client used it to treat her child’s skinned knee and ‘eight hours later’ the skin was all better.

Apivita Lip Care
This lip balm with cocoa butter and beeswax smells absolutely delicious and glides on wonderfully. Made with 87 per cent natural ingredients, it’s a rich formula filled with vitamins and even contains organic olive oil for extra smoothness. With a high factor SPF20, this stick is paraben, silicone and mineral oil free.

This balm by the Greek Cosmetia company gives the lips an ever so slight red tint with one small stroke. With an SPF15, it smells of strawberries and doesn’t leave lips the slightest bit sticky or greasy. This one is waterproof so there’s no fear of burning when you take a dip in the sea or pool while it leaves lips feeling very soft what with a Vitamin A and E complex topped off by Avocado oil. Also available in chocolate and cherry flavour for those who like to spice up their lip balm collection.

A vanilla-flavoured vitamin E lip care stick that can be worn alone or under lipstick with SPF15. Vitamin E is a natural antioxidant that moisturises and helps to protect the skin against premature ageing and environmental aggressors. Made with community trade coconut oil and olive oil to help nourish and condition the lips, there’s also added beeswax in this one that acts as a barrier to prevent moisture loss. Don’t expect glossy lips but it certainly feels soothing.
