UFO sighting: sceptic #1

Referring to your front page story of November 26 about UFO sightings over Paphos: the moon on November 24 was in its first quarter, which makes it 90 degrees behind the sun.

So at 10.45pm, it would be about 40 degrees above the western horizon. There was also a layer of thin high cloud that would have allowed it to be hazily visible for short periods. Could that account for any of the sightings?
