Dove Body Butter
Once the weather starts biting at your skin and you notice white stretches on the back of your hands, you know it’s time to switch your usual body cream for something richer. Body butter is the perfect remedy for winter skin as it works overtime to soothe and prevent moisture loss. Dove makes an excellent, almost too rich, body butter with a light scent that lingers long after you’ve applied it. Body butters are heavily based on oils and Dove’s is no different.

Johnsons 24 Hour Body Moisture Cream
There’s something about Johnsons’ products, I find very inviting. Perhaps it’s the ‘clean as a baby’ sense it gives and that sense is undeniable with this body cream with shea butter. The scent is ultra-relaxing and lingers on the skin, giving it a slight yet non-greasy shine, which isn’t surprising since the consistency is far lighter than any other. The fragrance is probably the best part of this product! And half an hour after I applied some on my hands they remained moisturised and soft. Excellent for normal to dry skins, but dryer skins will need something richer.

Enliven Aloe Vera Body Butter
A UK brand that uses natural fruit extracts. With the words ‘Aloe Vera’ gracing the package I wasn’t expecting much since products boasting well-known plant properties almost always disappoint. This one however was hardly something I’d push to the back of my toiletries cupboard. I loved the consistency, which was rich and thick enough to do the job without becoming too oily and penetrating quickly. And the scent was an intense refreshment; perhaps too summery and cool but effective with a nice shine.

Elpiniki Body Butter with Olive Oil and vitamin E
Apart from containing olive oil, which has anti-oxidant and anti-ageing properties, Elpiniki body butter also contains both Shea and Cocoa butter. As soon as I opened the tub, I realised this may be the richest body butter ever as it literally had the consistency of butter. I decided to use it on my elbows, which are by far the driest part of our bodies. Despite containing olive oil and butter, I didn’t find it greasy at all. I loved the smell of nature that came springing from the moment I opened it. Extremely dry skins will love this, I guarantee it.

The Body Shop Merry Cranberry
You can feel good about this body butter as its ingredients are community traded. The sesame oil it contains is sourced from a co-operative of small-scale farmers in a remote area of Nicaragua. Shea butter, another amazing ingredient, is one of nature’s great moisturisers. It has a soft baby pink colour and will mesmerise you from the moment you get the first whiff of its beautiful, stimulating fragrance. Very rich, The Body Shop’s body butters are known to be among the best on the market.

Logona Oriental Pomegranate and Sesame
If I had closed my eyes and stuck a peg on my nose, I would’ve sworn that I was applying butter to my thighs when I exited the shower and dipped my hand into the Logona body butter. The texture is almost identical to that of regular butter but the scent will overwhelm you with a sensual and warm feeling of pomegranate and sesame oil. Even though these two basic ingredients make up all your skin will ever need to be silky soft, it’s the irresistible fact that this is organic that will have you reaching out for more.

Mastic Spa Cocoa Butter Cream
For very dry skin, this pale orange body butter has the consistency of whipped cream. Light to the touch, it absorbs easily and has quite a strong smell of almonds. For once with a mastic product, the smell of mastic is quite subtle. Also contains cocoa butter, butter germ and rice oils to provide deep and soothing hydration. We loved it. Also available in other scents for different types of skin.
