Bomb attack at football referees’ HQ

THE REFEREES’ Association’s offices near the GSP Stadium in Nicosia were bombed in the early hours of yesterday morning, causing noticeable damage.

According to the head of Nicosia police, Kypros Michaelides, the possibility of the hand grenade being placed there by football fans is being examined.

CCTV footage is expected to assist investigations. The head of the Association, George Papoutsos, expressed his disgust and condemnation of the attack.
