Some speed limits are simply illogical

Both Ms Best and Mr Djaferis make valid points in their letters regarding speeding on our roads, even though they hold opposing views.

One point, however, is overlooked. That is the ridiculous 30kph speed limits on the approach to roundabouts and slip roads, etc.

I would challenge anyone, even Mother Theresa on a moped, to abide by them. It is so absurdly slow that to obey it would put you in mortal danger of a rear end shunt. To believe me just look at your speedometer next time you pass one.

If the unrealistically low speed limit signs were raised to reflect the safe and sensible speed that drivers actually travel at perhaps we would all have more respect for the higher ones as well.
