There are many things that could stimulate the economy

If the finance minister truly wants to create some worthwhile jobs which would help the environment and the tourist industry, then here’s a plan.

Everywhere I go in Cyprus I see piles of rubbish and debris mostly dumped by developers and builders. These piles of rubbish are often dumped in green areas or right next to fabulous new developments or nice hotels and no one seems to think that this eyesore is a problem.

I believe that when tourists come to Cyprus and witness the results of this sort of irresponsible dumping, which makes some tourist areas look shambolic, they are not impressed and they think twice about returning to the Island because it looks scruffy.

Why not get some teams together with the right equipment to get this sorted? There must be loads of unemployed builders out there with equipment lying around who could do this.

We could also improve the appearance of vacant green areas by employing some basic landscaping so that it doesn’t look like a wasteland.

In addition the government could create worthwhile employment in a central call centre to which citizens could report future incidences of dumping and information about the culprits who are responsible so that fines could be levied against those irresponsible idiots who think it’s ok to dump this stuff.

How about a Postal Delivery Service?

Loads of other ideas if you want them.
