Not all critics of Cyprus are Turkish spies

I am shocked by the content of Mr Loizou’s letter, presumably addressed to me. I find his content myopic, xenophobic, hypocritical and worst of all, racist.

I have lived in 27 countries – not just the UK – and only in Cyprus is there no absolute title with property ownership. Maybe Mr Loizou should check his facts outside this tiny Island state as well as his tiny island brain.

It is a fact that developers- some who have great political power here – due to their extended families and accumulated wealth – eat their cake and have it, 130,000 times so far.

Mr Loizou then accuses me of being a Turkish activist because his opinion is that this is what people are who criticise the Republic’s government.

Really, this idea is 35 years out of date, and I suggest he remove his head now from the sand, and accept that he is a European and subject to EU law.

He goes on, amusingly, to say that, ‘We’, (his government official friends and himself) are [I paraphrase] “investigating so see if I am a Turkish activist”, as this is all he can imagine someone can be who criticises the Republic’s government of corruption, he complains – blind to the fact that he is actually practising a type of corruption by using his ‘official’ friends to bend justice.

There is some small reference of corruption in the UK among MP’s, but no mention of the French and Italian media’s responses, who both ask what the problem is, such matters being viewed as perfectly normal in these countries’ elected representation.

Then the real icing on the cake is when this small minded bigot talks about Enoch Powell, and says he was correct.

Well, Mr Loizou, for your tiny mind, my mother was black, and I am disgusted with your racist comments.

She was a terrific lady, and died of cancer in much agony only recently, sadly, sadly missed always.

I expect an abject apology to be published straight away, and am seeking legal advice on your attitude with the European Commission for racism.
