Great news about domestic tourism but where’s my five per cent?

I would appreciate if you could put the following letter in your Letters Page.

The front cover of the Cyprus Mail on Tuesday the 4th August was great news. The second biggest tourist industry in Cyprus is the Cypriots.

This is thanks to the Government offering a 10,000,000 euro incentive to hotels to reduce their prices and hopefully attract local tourism. This has clearly worked as fewer Cypriots are flying abroad for their vacation and probably ex-pats too. I personally picked up a pamphlet from the Bank of Cyprus 3 weeks ago offering a 20% discount at the listed hotels on the back cover. I noticed the Coral Beach Hotel in Paphos was listed and as I had visited there last October I thought I would treat my wife and myself to 2 nights b/b at this location for our anniversary. I did not phone the freephone number on the pamphlet but phoned direct to the hotel. After enquiring about the rates I mentioned I was a Bank of Cyprus customer and was offered a 25% discount. My problem is where did the other 5% go if I had rang the freephone number.

Is this taken by the Bank of Cyprus or PASYXE who you mention in the article. Sorry but somebody is making money from the Governments generous donation of 10,000,000 euro and it is not the people it was intended for i.e. Us the General Public of Cyprus.
