Limassol comes alive with summer events

THE MUNICIPALITIES of Yermasoyia, Mesa Yeitonia and Ayios Athanasios have also presented their cultural calendars for the summer months.

The varied events will be taking place from the end of June until the end of September and most of them will be free.

“The focus is on local productions and creations in a bid to contribute to the merging of culture, art and creators in various types of entertainment and relaxation.

Our municipality aims that our cultural events will be upgraded year after year,” said Yermasoyia Mayor Andreas Gavrielides.

The summer cultural months at Yermasoyia will start from late June until late September. Events include a traditional dance, children’s theatre, Cyprus Festival, a rock music concert and a Cypriot painters’ exhibition.

At Ayios Athanasios, events will include the annual handball competition at the municipal beach (opposite Goody’s) which will take place between July 10-11 and a tribute to popular Greek singers Kazantzides and Tsitsanis by a group of Limassol-based musicians.

Cultural events at Mesa Yeitonia will include a Philharmonic orchestra festival, a Choir festival, a children’s fete and a variety of music concerts.
