Cyprus’ high prices just made the world smaller

We absolutely agree with the letter recently published by Mr & Mrs J Turner (We can holiday anywhere in the world with Cypriot prices, Letters, June 18).

We have also been regular visitors to your beautiful island for the last 20 years and have decided not to return this year.

You have most certainly priced yourselves out of the market. It is a common saying that the world is getting smaller and what were once unavailable countries to visit, now appear to be so much nearer. Sadly, we will be visiting these countries and not returning.

What a mistake you made joining Europe and especially joining the euro. Your hotel prices are now exorbitant and it would appear that the owners of these hotels are becoming greedier year on year.
What a shame!
