CTO has priorities all wrong

No wonder the tourists numbers are down when those ‘lovely’ taxi drivers at Paphos airport can commit daylight robbery €85 to Coral Bay with four passengers during the daytime.

The CTO should have a notice board displaying taxi charges to various parts of the island.

Thanks to everyone for their kindness

Through your columns I would like to express my thanks to my neighbour Marcos, in Paradise Gardens 3E when my wife had a distressing fall at 2am in our flat a couple of weeks ago. Without his help, I would never have been able to call the Ambulance Service, the Fire Service or get to Paphos General Hospital A&E.

If the courts were really effective, deeds scandal wouldn’t exist

Media lambasted over flu reporting

THE HEAD of the H1N1 virus task force yesterday called on the media to show more responsibility in reporting on the pandemic after the number of confirmed cases in Cyprus reached four at the weekend.

Dr Chrystalla Hadjianastasiou accused the media of inaccurate and overzealous news reporting which harmed the economy and tourism of the country.

Sylikiotis shoots from the hip

Interior Minister Neoclis Sylikiotis spoke bluntly yesterday about what has been done and what needs to be done to sort out the title deeds situation.

“We do not have a magic wand which we can wave in order to solve the problem just like that, especially when we are dealing with problems of omission and oversight that have been piling up over decades”, he said.
