Gift of life from Limassol family

THE FAMILY of a 54-year-old Limassol district farmer who was pronounced clinically dead on Thursday, have given their consent to donate his vital organs.

According to news reports the Ayios Pavlos villager’s liver and kidneys went to compatible recipients in Thessaloniki, Greece and Cyprus.

Last night surgeons at the Paraskevaidion Surgical and Transplant Centre transplanted Pavlos Andreou’s kidneys into two male patients, aged 53 and 64.

Andreou died after he sustained severe head injuries during a farming accident on Monday.
