I am a Cypriot refugee and I would like to vote in a referendum

Dear Mr Christofias,
I am writing to request clarification and guidance with regards to my democratic right to vote at a potential, upcoming referendum for a proposed solution of the Cyprus problem. Note that this letter will be made public as this is an issue concerning all Cypriots living abroad.

Unfortunately, when the Annan Plan was proposed in April 2004, I was not given the opportunity to vote and express my opinion about the future of my country.

I am a Cypriot citizen currently living in Canada. My family and I are refugees from the city of Famagusta and since 1974 our property is occupied by the Turkish troops.
As a Cypriot citizen and a refugee, I am very concerned about the future of my country. Therefore I want to ensure that, in the future, I will have the opportunity to exercise my democratic right to vote on any proposed solution of the Cyprus problem.
