How many must die before we get serious?

I read with great regret on the loss of the lives of two young boys and can only on pass my condolences to the parents of these boys, but questions must be asked to avoid a tragedy like this happening again.

Why were boys of this age on motorbikes when the legal age is sixteen? When are the police going to get out of their cars and stop and question these young lads? When are shops and garages going to stop selling bikes to these kids and letting under age children refuel their bikes? And finally, when are the mukhtars going to get out of their offices and look for themselves how many underaged children are speeding up and down roads late at night?
Two are dead: how many more will die before the people in authority stop shrugging their shoulders and saying ‘this is Cyprus’?

It is time for Cyprus to come into the 21st century with the rest of the world where traffic and road safety is concerned
