Stock up now on powerful anti-viral herbal supplements and be ready to fight swine flu should it arrive

Most of my e-mail this week has been about the dangers of H1N1 swine flu: what precautions to take, which herbal treatments will be effective. The media has been flooded with information and certainly the fatality figures and outbreak centres will have changed considerably in the week between writing this and publication. What won’t change is the fact that medical science completely ignores the hugely powerful anti-viral properties of two natural products, the olive leaf and the herb oregano. Potent herbal supplements derived from both of these should be in everyone’s personal medicine chest, always, for all emergencies and health problems, not just to fight the flu if it arrives.
Like bird flu and SARS in the past, H1N1 will probably be contained, hopefully before the virus mutates again and becomes resistant to current conventional medication. But I’d suggest that, for peace of mind, everyone who travels, has overseas visitors or lives near apartments let to tourists, should take precautions now. Stock up on Eden Extract, NAH&S Oil of Oregano and Oregacyn capsules as detailed in the protocol below.

A wealth of scientific information exists about the anti-viral properties of olive leaf extract. By 1969, researchers had isolated the main anti-microbial ingredient – calcium elonolate – which inhibited the growth of every human-contracted virus, bacterium and fungus that it was tested against. In 1995, East Park Research isolated a further factor – d-elenolic acid – and manufactured a 500mg capsule providing the strongest antimicrobial extract from olive leaves. It was patented in January 1998 – perhaps one of a few patents ever granted for a 100% natural product. A study in 2001 conducted by a Japanese team and published in the Journal of Orthomolecular Medicine clearly defines the active properties of the d-lenolate factor of Eden Olive Leaf Extract and its proven efficacy in the treatment of mice infected with influenza virus. Eden Extract should be in every family’s First Aid kit.

Oregano oil has been similarly researched, particularly the P73 medicinal quality oils from North American Herb & Spice (NAH&S). The P73 reference is the laboratory code used at Georgetown University in Washington during the research and testing programme supervised by Dr Harry Preuss. The regular strength is 25:75 ratio of oregano:olive oil. The super strength version is 300% stronger – not for the faint hearted! Gelcaps of both strengths contain seven drops and are an ideal way to take oregano without the strong taste.

Oregacyn P73 is specifically recommended for respiratory problems including flu. It’s a concentrated multi-spice powder combining oregano P73, cumin and sage, giving an even greater concentration of germ killing and antioxidant power. Other members of the P73 family include my favourite: OregaPlus, branded in the US as OregaBiotic, a name that indicates exactly how potent the formulation is. The oils are emulsified in beeswax, which slowly releases as it passes along the digestive tract. The blend contains P73 oregano plus five more anti-fungal extracts: oil of wild bayleaf, cumin oil, oil of wild sage and black seed oil – an anti-parasitic agent. It’s the only vegetarian gelcap in the range.

I’ve written about GermaClenz recently, but with any infection, it’s my first line of defence. I always take it traveling and, if swine flu is still rampant when I fly out next, I shall use a disposable face-mask, liberally sprayed with GermaClenz as well as boosting my immune system in advance with oregano, olive leaf extract and Purely C, Vitamin C – the antioxidant ‘superstar’ that also protects against infection. Worth remembering also is that there’s a distinct possibility that there will be a ‘second wave’ of H1N1 with more severe characteristics come winter time.
Don’t leave things to chance – these supplements are not just in case of flu: they have dozens of other applications. Mail order is extremely efficient: for more information see www.oliveleaf.co.uk. Contact Tigon by e-mail [email protected] or phone 00 44 1664 485001.

Swine Flu Protocol from Derek at Tigon UK

In a crisis we will be following the following regime
1. At the first sign of an infection – take 4 x Eden capsules, then 2 capsules every four hours.
2. Plus 2 Oregacyn capsules initially, then one capsule every four hours.
3. Complement this with 10-15 drops of Super Strength P73 oregano oil under the tongue, taking a sip of water and swishing around and gargling for a good minute before swallowing. Perhaps 6 times a day and especially last thing before sleeping at night.
4. To support the immune system I will increase my Vitamin C intake to 4 x Purely C capsules a day, take at least 30mg of Zinc and plenty of Echinacea (to support white blood cells) and use a good probiotic, like HealthBac, last thing at night to help maintain good gut flora.
5. Use GermaClenz spray liberally to keep environment disinfected and spray on hands to stop virus transmission.
For regular flu infection, take the Eden as described above, with one Oregacyn in the morning and one at night; 8-10 drops of regular strength oregano under the tongue, swish and gargle, 4-5 times daily.
