British media flock to Cyprus in search of Andre

CYPRIOT POP STAR Peter Andre has spent a second day behind the walls of his Pervolia mansion hiding from the gaze of the British press after his public separation from wife Katie Price.

The sensational split came after a British newspaper published pictures of former glamour girl Price with another man at a London nightclub.

Andre, 36, flew into Larnaca on Tuesday night to be comforted by his older brothers Chris, 46, and Michael, 39.

‘We’re chilling for a few days,’ Michael told The Sun. ‘Peter won’t say anything.’

Just hours after the break-up, Price left eldest son Harvey, who is severely disabled, behind with Andre and a carer the couple’s UK mansion.

Price took her two other children to the Maldives, where she is said to outraged that Andre also fled the country to be with his family in Cyprus, leaving Harvey with just his carers.

Andre has a close circle of friends in Cyprus and even spent time working at a gym in Larnaca in 2001 before gaining fame on a British reality TV show.

Many of Andre’s friends in Larnaca remained tight lipped yesterday, refusing to answer questions from journalists.

“Leave it, he wants to be alone and you should respect that,” one associate told Cyprus Mail.

Andre, who speaks Greek fluently, has been to Cyprus three times this year and has even been reported that Price was taking language classes to learn Greek.

Over a dozen journalists and photographers, mostly from the UK, have been spotted near the singer’s mansion during the last twenty-four hours.

A local freelance photographer told the Cyprus Mail that he would not be surprised if Andre pays a visit to Ayia Napa to try and forget his worries.

“The couple were only here about a week ago looking like love’s young dream at Ayia Napa harbour, they looked very much in love. I know Peter has many friends in Napa, so he will probably come over this week to relax a bit and forget his worries,” he said.

Born to Greek Cypriot parents Savvas and Thea, André has four older brothers Andrew, Chris, Danny, Michael and one older sister Debbie.

André married Price in 2005.
