Farmers dump milk on busy roundabout

ANGRY GOAT and sheep farmers dumped 25 tons of milk on Konia roundabout in Paphos yesterday to protest that one third of their production is not being absorbed by the dairy industry.

According to police, the peaceful demonstration involved 21 farmers, and national guardsmen were called in to help the fire brigade clean up the spilt milk.

Violence erupts after volley match

SIX MEN were injured before, during and after a volleyball game between Anorthosis and Omonia in Larnaca on Friday night, which ended in utter mayhem.

The Cyprus Volleyball Cup match, which had taken place at the Kitio Athletic Centre, had been attended by around 1,000 supporters.

Police seize 300 cannabis plants from mansion

THE DRUG SQUAD has uncovered a massive greenhouse in Protaras filled with cannabis plants, in what was yesterday described as one of the biggest drugs busts Cyprus has ever seen.

A 33-year-old man and a woman aged 24, both from Nicosia, have been arrested in connection with the case and were yesterday remanded for eight days by Famagusta District Court.
