Blaze in Falcon School wing

A FIRE broke out at the Falcon school in Strovolos Sunday morning, causing damages close to €850,000. The fire, whose cause remains unknown, started from the events hall and spread quickly through the campus because of the presence of flammable material.

Quick intervention from the fire brigade prevented the blaze from expanding to the rest of the building. Having found no traces of any entry points being tampered with, preliminary investigations by police have ruled out foul play.

A fireman suffered light head injuries during the course of investigations when he fell from a height of about 2.5 metres. He was transferred to Nicosia General Hospital where he received stitches and was discharged. Another fireman slightly injured his leg trying to help him.
