Talat to stand down if no 2009 solution found?

If the comments of Mr Talat are to be believed, and there is no positive agreements reached on the Cyprus Problem by the end of 2009 (which is beginning to look likely) then both Talat and President Demetris Christofias should stand down. Then moves toward permanent partition should be commenced by a people’s coalition, for the sake of the people, stability and world standing of both sides.

In reality nothing has actually changed and no positive and committed action has been taken – let alone agreed – despite more frequent meetings and posturing. The intransigence of politicians can not go on for year after year after year irrespective of who or what party they are.
