Bush will be judged kindly

Contrary to the political pundits President George W. Bush, a man of deep faith and conviction, will one day be judged kindly by history.

He will be judged as an authentic promoter and defender of life, liberty, and happiness. Faced with more challenges than any of his predecessors  he has done more than any of them to  build a culture of life. His denunciations of the culture of death have been instrumental in rallying wordwide opposition to terrorism, abortion, contraception, homosexuality, and embryonic-tissue research.

It is only fitting that before leaving office Bush proclaimed on January 18 to be National Sanctity of Human Life Day. He said “all life is a gift from our Creator that is sacred, unique, and worthy of protection.”

He further emphasised that “we aspire to build a society in which every child is welcome in life and protected in law.”

Let us hope that newly elected Barack Obama will be moved by the grace of God to  follow in Bush’s pro-life footsteps.
