English products will be pricier in Cyprus

Sir,

I was highly amused by the letter from George of Paphos concerning the high prices he experienced in E&S supermarket.

Perhaps if he used his common sense and shopped for items that originate from Cyprus he might be able to make considerable savings.

Living in Cyprus and buying Clover Butter, Iceland meals, Heinz Baked beans and the like seems a little odd. Does he not realise that all his quoted products have to be transported from the UK to Cyprus thus having a cost implication?

Perhaps if he looked at the prices he is being charged for fresh fruit and vegetables and for pork products and more importantly petrol and council tax he might realise how lucky he is in Cyprus and not struggling in the UK.
