Two teenagers remanded for string of burglaries

TWO 14-YEAR-old boys are in remand after admitting they committed a total of 11 burglaries of schools and shops in Limassol, police said yesterday.

The two boys were arrested after police, acting on a tip-off, searched their houses and found large quantities of stolen computers, electronic equipment and sports shoes. The exact value of stolen items has not been estimated yet.

After questioning, the teenagers, who are from Poland, admitted to committing a total of 11 burglaries in Limassol between last October and Tuesday, when the first of the two was arrested. The suspects were taken to Limassol District Court yesterday, where a four-day remand was issued.

Meanwhile, police are looking for a 22-year-old Cypriot man, believed to be an accomplice.
