Ruling with my pocket, not my heart

Sir,

Being a native of Cyprus, I am amazed and bemused by the lack of vision shown by the Cyprus tourist board.

I have been visiting my second home two to three times a year since the late 80s and very rarely do I get a “cheap” deal.

Cyprus continuously to be far more expensive than other European destinations. I have ruled with my heart not my pocket but no more.

Like many others in the UK, we will be looking at value for money in the future.

Water wasters need punishing

Sir,

I have been reading the concerns regarding the shortage of water that we have had since the beginning of the summer.

During my visit in September, I noticed many residents using their hose pipes to wash down their frontages, cars, etc.

When will the authorities wake up to this fact and have them punished?

If I have notice this fact, I am sure the police or council representatives have too.
