DNA test shows girl raped by father wasn’t his daughter

A MAN who admitted to raping his teenage daughter was shocked when DNA tests showed that she wasn’t his biological child.

The 35-year-old man pled guilty to raping his 15-year-old daughter a few days ago, and the Criminal Court is expected to convict him on Friday.

According to Politis newspaper yesterday, citing inside information on the closed trial, the man had initially denied all charges but was advised by his lawyer to change his plea, as the testimony by a Neurology and Genetics expert showed the girl had indeed been raped by the plaintiff.

The expert told the court the man’s sperm had been found on various parts of the teenager’s body. She also revealed that his DNA did not match that of the 15-year-old, whom he believed to be his biological daughter. His wife still maintains that the girl is his daughter.

The development resulted in the incest charges being dropped.

The plaintiff admitted to eight charges, two rapes on separate dates, corrupting a minor, sexual exploitation and indecent assault.

The case came to light last April when the 15-year-old confided in a family member. It was then reported to police and the Welfare Services were informed.

A pathologist examination showed the teenager had indeed been raped.
