There is a cheaper way to leave Cyprus

I did a bit of research to find a cheaper and quicker solution for Mr Peter Stephens of Polis (The price of living on an isolated island, Letters, November 9) and would like to bring to his attention that the cost of Emirates flight from Istanbul to Singapore at the same time he is planning to fly is €1,888 return for two people.

Add this the cost of flying from Ercan to Istanbul €180 for two, with only an additional 75 minutes flying time each way. Total saving of €430 and you get to spend a full day in Istanbul for a bit of sightseeing.
