Happy birthday, Nicosia General

NICOSIA GENERAL Hospital is celebrating its two years of operation with a series of events and information campaigns.

The information centres, which opened yesterday and open to the public from 10am until 1pm, will continue today with respiratory tests for smokers by the Pneumonology Clinic, healthy eating information by the Dietetics Department and cholesterol checks by the Cardiology Clinic.

Up until Friday, among other activities, the public can have their sugar levels tested tomorrow, check their tolerance to antibiotics on Thursday and learn more about gastroenterological ailments.

The centres will be run by medical, nursing and other hospital staff, which will advise the public and hand out leaflets on issues of precaution.

In events that will follow on Friday, the hospital’s Executive Director will present Nicosia General Hospital’s work over the two years of its operation, there will be blood donations for staff and public from 10am until 1pm and there will be an exhibition of the hospital’s old equipment.
