Vandals target young greens

THE offices of the young ecologists’ movement in Nicosia were vandalised for the second time in less than three weeks, the organisation said yesterday.

A statement said that when members went to open up yesterday morning, they found their sign destroyed and the door damaged.

The offices are located near the end of Ledra Street in the Papadopoulos arcade.

On September 11, only weeks after moving into the building, a rock had been thrown through the front window.

“In the first incident, we were ready to accept that this was a mindless act of vandalism, which destroyed a shop window,” said the group.

“But this second attack was dramatically different and again the culprits left without taking anything.”

They also left graffiti accusing the young greens of ‘selling out’.
