More than 20,000 use airport bus

MORE than 20,000 travellers, locals and foreigners, have used buses for transportation to and from the airports of Larnaca and Paphos since July 14 when the service made its maiden journey.

Communications Minister Nicos Nicolaides said yesterday the figures were proof that society needed this measure, adding that “this proves that Cypriots can and want to use public transport”.

Nicolaides said the measure fitted into the overall plan of public transport and expressed the hope that other measures would follow, and the Cypriot would free themselves from their dependence on their cars.
