Missing man found after committing suicide

TWELVE hours after going missing, a 26-year-old National Guard reservist was found dead in his car on the Limassol-Platres road yesterday.

Police said he had shot himself after telling his brother to look after their mother and fellow siblings, if he did not return home.

The police had been looking for him in three separate districts after he failed to show up at his Limassol home on Monday evening.

He had been on a military exercise in the Evrychou area, which finished late on Monday afternoon.

The last contact anybody had with him was his brother, at 8pm.

His car was found on a dirt track, next to the main road. His army automatic weapon was found beside his body.
