Paphos harbour has been ruined

I have just visited the new Paphos Harbour area which has been regenerated and what a change.

Gone is the raised harbour wall that people used to sit on, and so have all the benches. In the heat of the day one couple were sitting on the floor at the base of a tree to find some shade for their young child. Not only was there no shade whatsoever to escape the heat of the sun, but there was no where to sit.

So much for progress, the old harbour area was so much more customer friendly. The shopfronts which have had several months to prepare for the opening were still in a state of flux with most of them still undergoing renovation. No doubt they will be ready for November?

What a shame that all the old character has gone from the harbour area, who ever planned this, and I loosely use the term ‘plan’ has spoilt what was once a nice area to visit. Still it saves me going back again.
