Eco friendly fuel available at the pumps

PETROLINA has announced the release of a new environmentally-friendly fuel.

Named Platinum+ it features a liquid catalyst which improves combustion by 12 per cent.

It is also claimed to lower emissions by 40 per cent, while at the same time increasing engine power by seven per cent.

The petrol giant unveiled the fuel in co-operation with American company, Biofriendly Corporation, which has invested over $25 million in development costs over the last 15 years in order to develop the catalyst, which is not an additive and does not change the chemical composition of the fuel.

It can be used in all vehicles, including motorcycles and boats, irrespective of type and age.

Platinum+ was unveiled by Biofriendly’s Senior Vice-President, Sales and Marketing, Jim D’Arezzo earlier this week at a press conference in Nicosia.

Petrolina’s Marketing Manager Stathis Galazis told the Mail that the fuel is available “in both unleaded 95 and super unleaded 98 octane, as well as Eurodiesel at all Petrolina and Agip petrol stations from yesterday, at no extra cost to the consumer.”

The EU has set a target of ensuring ten per cent of petrol and diesel comes from renewable sources by 2020
