Restaurant owner accused of arson

POLICE yesterday arrested the owner of the Alcatraz caf?-restaurant in Kato Paphos in connection with charges of arson. A passer-by notified the Fire Service at 4am yesterday when he saw the restaurant in flames on Klitemnistras Street. After the fire was put out, police and fire service officials were able to examine the scene, reaching the conclusion that arson was at play.

By 11.20am, police arrested the 60-year-old owner of the establishment. According to a Paphos police official, the restaurant was insured.
