Jewels stolen

JEWELLERY of a total value of €41,000 has disappeared into thin air from the home of a 65-year old woman from Paralimni.

The woman claims to have stored the jewellery away on New Year’s Day and only looked for them again yesterday.

The 22 items, which included a diamond ring and seven gold pounds, had been packed in nylon bags.

Upon investigating, police found no signs of breaking and entering.

However, the building which houses the 65-year old has recently been turned into a building site and, according to police, only a handful of people could have had access to the place where the jewellery was stored.

Therefore, police will be channelling their investigations accordingly.
