Three students arrested over school vandalism

THREE students from Limassol were arrested yesterday in connection with police investigations over the criminal damage to the premises of Ayios Antonios high-school that took place last weekend, police said yesterday.

The arrests were based on information given to police by an eye-witness. The three boys were questioned and admitted their guilt, police said.

The three had destroyed school property and set fire to a blackboard. Damage was caused to seven rooms, and included destruction of chairs, desks, windows and walls.

Following this latest incident, Ayios Antonios high-school in Limassol announced that it would introduce a camera surveillance circuit on its premises, in an effort to put an end to incidents of vandalism that have been plaguing the school.
