Minibus torched in Limassol

A MINIBUS belonging to a Paphos-based taxi company was set on fire while parked at a service-garage in Limassol, police said yesterday.

The fire was reported at 1.30am on Friday. The minibus was parked at the garage on Petros Yiallouros street in the Ayios Varnavas area. The fire brigade was called in to put out the fire.

The minibus was totally destroyed by the fire, while damage was also caused to two cars parked nearby, as well as to the garage.

Following police examination of the scene, it was found that the fire was started deliberately using inflammable matter. Police are investigating the causes of the arson, to determine whether it targeted the taxi company or the garage owner.
