Labour minister’s pledge to Limassol charities

THE MINISTER of Labour Antonis Vassiliou yesterday visited Ayios Stefanos, Apostolos Loucas and Theotokos foundations in Limassol, pledging government support and aid to the foundations supporting people with special needs.

“As the government, we greatly appreciate the work undertaken, especially for these people, as it takes a lot of strength to deal with these problems and, of course, the state provides rewards beyond thanks and appreciation, through its active economic and moral support,” said Minister Vassiliou.

Vassiliou promised that the government will be responsive to the needs put forward by such organisations. “We will respond, I think, to almost 100 per cent of the problems put before us,” he said.

“What we are interested in is for these foundations to continue working and the least we can do as the Ministry of Labour and as a government is to respond to what is being asked from us, and meet the expectations of those facing problems.”
