Sudden death strikes man of 26

A TWENTY-six-year-old man from Klirou died unexpectedly yesterday after getting up to go to work and losing consciousness.

According to the police, Demetris Anastasiou wad found by his younger brother at 8am yesterday as he passed his room. Their mother, who had already woken Anastasiou up and seen him get up and start getting dressed, called for a private doctor to come and examine him.

But when they realised he wasn’t gaining consciousness, an ambulance was called to take him to Nicosia General Hospital, where doctors confirmed he had died.

Police experts examined Anastasiou’s body and found he had no external injuries.

A post-mortem will be carried out this morning to explore the reasons behind the death of the man, whose relatives said he had not been facing any health problems.
