Fluttering in the wind outside one of the world’s largest churches – which attracts up to five million pilgrims a year – are exquisite angels created by Maria Loizidou. The Cypriot artist was chosen from hundreds of others to design artwork for the new church built to honour the miracle of Fatima in Portugal in 1917 (pages 8-13).
