Spurned lover arrested over Limassol car bombing

A MAN AND a woman were arrested by Limassol Police yesterday, in relation to an investigation of a car bombing that took place a few hours earlier in the seaside town.
The explosion took place at approximately 5am on Friday. The targeted car belonged to a Syrian man living in Limassol.

At the time the car was parked in the parking lot outside the man’s residence at Ayios Tychonas tourist area. The entire car has been damaged, police said.
Following a tip-off, police arrested two British Cypriots, a 30-year-old woman and her 21-year-old cousin.

The 30-year-old woman had been romantically involved with the Syrian man and following a break-up decided to take revenge, police said.
The two suspects are in custody and will face court today.
